Sensory Feeding

Many children have trouble tolerating select foods. For some children, this results in a diet that is restricted enough that we worry about their ability to receive enough nutrition to stay healthy. I sought advanced training the the Sequential-Oral-Sensory (SOS) feeding approach, to help children tolerate unfamiliar foods. During SOS therapy, children learn more about the different sensory properties of foods in a playful, non-stressful way. This approach focuses on helping children dilute their fear around various food sights, smells, and textures, in order to make it easier to taste and eat them. The following link provides more information about the philosophy and science behind the SOS Approach to feeding.
